Invent Medic announces that the company has signed a framework agreement as provider of the product Efemia bladder support to Region Värmland in Sweden after a completed public procurement process. The agreement comes into effect on May 1, 2020, and it is valid for two years with an option for the region to extend the agreement with up to two years.

This is Invent Medic’s first delivery agreement based on a public procurement, and it is thus an important step towards the company’s goal to sign agreements for Efemia with all public healthcare regions in Sweden. It also provides a good indication on the product’s competitiveness in preparation for expected equivalent public procurement processes in larger European countries such as the UK and Germany.

“This agreement clearly shows that Efemia can be accepted in public procurements in the stress urinary incontinence (SUI) segment in Sweden. This bodes well for upcoming public procurements and our continued ambitious expansion in Europe and the US in the coming years,” says Invent Medic’s CEO Karin Bryder.

Up until today, Efemia is available in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. Invent Medic is also working hard to launch the product in additional European markets and in the US in the coming years. There is a major interest in Efemia from public and private healthcare entities, and there is a substantial need for innovation in the segment as some pelvic mesh implants used in the most common type of SUI surgery are banned in markets including the US, the UK and Australia.
